Exercising his supreme teaching office, the Vicar of Christ, Pope John Paul II, through his pontificate, has proclaimed forcefully the unchanging truths of the "source and summit" of our faith the Holy Eucharist.  And, at a time when millions don't know or even reject the Church's teaching on the Holy Eucharist, the Pope's proclamation of "The Year of the Eucharist" couldn't be more necessary or urgent.  "The Pontiff believes that faithful celebrations of Sunday Mass, and especially Eucharistic Adoration outside of Mass, will "witness with greater force the presence of God in the world."  He's asking you and me "not to be afraid to speak of God," and to be proud to show the world "signs of the faith."
