Starring: Msgr. James P. Moroney Director: ------ The Missale Romanum, editio typical tertia,
the third edition of the Roman Missal, was promulgated by Pope John
Paul II in the year 2002. After nearly ten years of work by
bishops, scholars, poets, and musicians, an English-language
translation of this important liturgical book is about to be published.
In this DVD, Msgr. James P. Moroney provides an introduction to how
these translations came about and how they provide an opportunity for a
renewal of the liturgical reform envisioned by the Fathers of the
Second Vatican Council.
The Vox Clara Committee was
created by the Holy See in 2002 to advise the Congregation of Divine
Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments on the translation of Roman
Catholic liturgical books into English.
